What We Do

Healing Hands supports four key ministries

• Nursing Hands for India – a Nursing Scholarship Program for poor Indian orphan girls that seeks to not only raise these girls out of poverty, but also to build up the local health workforce to improve health. These are individual scholarships awarded to girls on a need-basis. The training is three and a half years for girls studying for General Nursing and Midwifery, and for four years for a Bachelor of Science in Nurse in India.
• Raising Hands for India – educational support for young boys and girls who are the children of bonded laborers (the most common form of modern debt slavery) or orphans. There are four institutions we support.
• Caring Hands for India – healthcare support for destitute elderly persons so that they can end their days knowing love and dignity. We also support children with disabilities under this program.
• Nurturing Hands for India – supports comprehensive care for mothers and young children with HIV.
